Transport

We hope you’ll enjoy our action packed festival programme but with so much to do and see around the City you’ll probably need to use our transport systems to get out and about.

Over the festive period there will be lots of changes to the various transport networks so for the most up to date information we recommend that you go directly to the individual websites that we have listed below.

 

Journey Planner

Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus provides the capital and the suburbs with an extensive public bus network.  For quick and efficient traveling around the City you must have the exact fare, so it’s advisable to carry some change with you.

The Luas

The Luas Tram System will get you in, out and about in the City. There are two tram lines. The Green line runs on the South Side of the City. The Red line serves the North side.

Irish Rail

Irish Rail provides rail services in and out of the City. The DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) is Dublin’s electric rail system it’s a quick and easy way to get around. It runs along the coast of the Irish Sea from Malahide or Howth in north County Dublin southwards as far as Greystones, Co Wicklow.

Dublin Bikes

Dublin Bike Hire is a fast and efficient way of making your way around the City centre. If you’re here for the festivities we’d recommend the 3 day ticket that can be purchased from any of the credit card terminals for just €5. You’ll find Bike stations are located in close proximity to each other so that you’re never too far to rent or return a bike.

Taxi

You can hail a licensed taxi at a taxi rank or on the street.

A licensed taxi must display a yellow TAXI display panel on the top of the car’s roof.

ALL taxis are metered for your comfort and safety.

DoDublin Freedom Ticket

Unlock the best of Dublin City today with DoDublin Freedom Ticket for great value.

The ticket provides 48 Hours Hop on Hop off tour plus 72 Hours on the Dublin Bus network including bus routes from Dublin Airport to the City Centre.

If you are travelling to or from the airport, Dublin Bus operates routes 41 and 16. You can also avail of the Luas (Dublin Tram Network) and DART (Dublin Rail System, in Dublin area only) with your ticket.
