New Year’s Day Concert

On 1 January, Gavin James will take to the stage for a spectacular show in Dublin Castle for the New Year’s Day Concert. Gavin James will be joined by special guests True Tides, Erica Cody and Brad Heidi. Come and see some of Ireland’s best musicians with your family and friends for a New Year’s Day to remember.

Artists

Dublin r&b artist erica cody is a leading figure in the irish music scene and a prominent campaigner, actively championing irish female talent and issues around racism and equality in ireland. Erica’s infectious brand of music has seen support from key spotify playlists such as new music friday, major press outlets including the times, clash, wonderland, notion magazine, ones to watch, and national airplay at home and abroad – with her latest single premiering on bbc introducing.

The singer/producer exudes a confidence in her brand of classic 90s r&b, a confidence that has seen her share the stage with living legends en vogue. Erica has performed at leading european festivals such as primavera pro, as well as gracing prominent stages in ireland including 3arena with irish women in harmony, electric picnic and the national concert hall – collaborating on one occasion with the rté national symphony orchestra.

Erica was also an integral part of irish women in harmony, a collaborative release of the cranberries’ ‘dreams’ orchestrated by grammy nominated artist ruthanne cunningham. It saw 40 of ireland’s leading female artists join forces to support safe ireland in an effort to end domestic abuse and coercive control in ireland. The song has over 6 million spotify streams and the stripped-back video, filmed by artists at home during the first covid-19 lockdown, has been viewed over 3 million times.
