Ring in 2020 with New Year’s Festival Dublin, Ireland’s biggest New Year Celebration.
Now in its eighth year, New Year’s Festival Dublin (NYF Dublin) will be bigger and better than ever with 4 spectacular events set to take place over 2 days on 31 December 2019 and 1 January 2020.
Dublin City will come alive over 2 days of fun filled New Year’s festivities with 3 spectacular countdown events at the iconic Custom House – Liffey Lights Midnight Moment – Matinee, the Countdown Concert and the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment – and on 1 January 2020 families and friends can continue the New Year’s celebrations by kick-starting 2020 in style at the New Year’s Day Concert in Temple Bar, the cultural heart of Dublin City.
New Year’s Festival Dublin are delighted to announce the return of their three countdown events on 31 December 2019. Celebrate the New Year with headliners Walking on Cars, Ash, Aimee and Lisa McHugh at the Countdown Concert, be amazed by the world class countdown spectacles – Liffey Lights Midnight Moment and the family-friendly Liffey Lights Midnight Moment (Matinee) as you say farewell to 2019 and ring in 2020 in true celebratory style. On 1 January, come and see some of Ireland’s finest musicians with your family and friends at the New Year’s Day Concert featuring performances from live favourites Kíla with more to be announced.
1. Liffey Lights Midnight Moment Matinee // Custom House // 31 December 2019 // Free, Family Friendly Ticketed Event
Families and friends of all ages can count down to the New Year together at Liffey Lights Midnight Moment Matinee, a very special earlier countdown event. Children will be enchanted as the night sky lights up in a magical explosion of colour as laser lights and aqua beams dance in perfect harmony with the music. Entertainment for this FREE event will start at 6pm leading to the earlier countdown spectacle at 7pm. This is a FREE event but tickets will need to be booked in advance. Booking details will be announced on www.nyfdublin.com at the end of November.
2. Liffey Lights Midnight Moment // Custom House // 31 December 2019 // Free event
Celebrate the final moments of 2019 as the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment marks the end of the year and welcomes in 2020 in spectacular fashion. Prepare to be thrilled by the spectacular solar symphony of lights as up to 100 aqua beams, lasers and search lights dance across the night sky, performing in time with original music created especially for the countdown event. Watch in awe as the thrilling choreography of lasers and aqua beams illuminate the Dublin sky against the back drop of the iconic Custom House as revellers count down to the year 2020. The FREE event will start at 11.30pm with excitement building to a crescendo as the clock strikes 12. This performance is not to be missed. This is a FREE event.
3. Countdown Concert // Custom House // 31 December 2019 // Over 18s Event
Get ready for a New Year’s Eve night to remember! Following sold out tours across Europe and headlining major Irish arena and outdoor concerts this year, Walking On Cars are set to top off 2019 by headlining this year’s Countdown Concert at Custom House. Walking On Cars will ring in 2020 with special guests Ash, Aimee and Lisa McHugh. Tickets (which include entry to the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment event) are priced €36.90 including booking fee and go on sale this Friday 18th October at 9am from www.nyfdublin.com subject to license. (OVER 18s EVENT)
4. New Year’s Day Concert // 1 January 2020 // Temple Bar // Free, Family Friendly Event
Kick-start 2020 at the family–friendly New Year’s Day Concert in Temple Bar. New Year’s Festival Dublin continue the celebrations on January 1st with festivities including performances from Kíla and a host of Ireland’s finest musicians at the New Year’s Day Concert plus pop up street performances to keep little people of all ages entertained! This is a FREE event.
